GEOstrip SystemsTM Features

GRS Inc. is pleased to release GEOstrip SystemsTM Version 3.22 with the following upgrades:

  1. Futher improvments to file structure has enabled us to reduce GEOstrip files sizes to 5% of previous file reduction upgrade in release 3.21
  2. New Detail Layer & Background Layer painting option available in the Horizontal Log gives you the ability to paint with different Lithology Rock Type snap grid sizes.
  3. New Page Up/Down, Home and End keyboard functions.
  4. New Mouse Wheel scroolling sensitivity adjustment capability for scrolling thru Log.
  5. New improvements to Geological Description Exporting to Long Form.
  6. New Dots Per Inch selector option availuable when printing images with Log to give the user control of image size on Log print out.
  7. Because of the reduced file sizes, files transmitted are no longer compressed in either a cabinet compression or WiZip compression. File now are transmitted as vlogs, hlogs, clog and dcr files and should be accepted and not blocked by any company server protection software.

“GEOstrip SystemsTM Version 3.20 Features

GRS inc. is pleased to Release Version 3.20 of GEOstrip Systems. Many improvements and new features have been implemented into this upgrade. Please review the enhancements list below:
  1. Much more improved file structure reducing GEOstrip files down to 25% of previous files sizes.
  2. Fixed License Number data not being saved in Log File and Header.
  3. Fixed over writing of some Symbol Legends when certain combinations chosen in Symbol Library.
  4. GEOstrip now has exporting capability to Paradigms GEOLOG Geophysical software.
  5. GEOstrip now has the ability to plot Survey Data to any Curve track in the Horizontal Striplog not just the WBCS.
  6. GEOstrip now has the ability to setup Auto-Depth Geological Descriptions for any desired intervals in the Horizontal Striplog
  7. Improved Exporting of Geological Descriptions alone or with the entire Well Report.
  8. GEOstrip now has the option to display all accessories symbols with or without background transparency.
  9. GEOstrip now has the option to adjust the painting of Rock Type symbols to much finer resolution giving you ability to paint very small rock type changes in both the Vertical & Horizontal Striplog.
  10. GEOstrip now allows you to very quickly reorder your Curves in any Curve Track without resetting up your curves.
  11. New ability to import and plot data files with Irregular depth values.
  12. New Column Header options for Grain Size Column to indicate Silt to Very Coarse or 1/16mm to 2mm.
  13. GEOstrip now can recognize all Network Printers when connected to a Network
GRS Inc. will be releasing upgrade Version 3.30 on November 3, 2008 below is some of the New Features:
  1. WITS Link capability to read, display and automatically plot any selected WITS curve data into any selected Curve Track in Real Time.
  2. Report capability in Microsoft Excel.
  3. Import Survey Data files in Excel seamlessly.
  4. New Mud Record available in Report Module.

New Features in Version 3.07

1. All Lithology and Column symbols have been upgraded to Vector files for a clearer and improved detailed appearance. 2. You can now setup your symbol palettes and select only the symbols you need from the New Symbol Library. These pallets can be setup and saved as templates for different types of Wells Logs or Drill Core/Cutting Reports. 3. Many new symbols have been added to the new Symbol Library including, new Rock Type, Minerals, Fossils, Sedimentary Structures, Stratification and Trace Fossils. 4. You can now Import and Display Directional Survey data into the GEOstrip VC StriplogTM Vertical Striplog. This Data can be displayed on any Curve Track and you can select which Survey Data to be displayed. 5. NEW Drill Cuttings/Core Report. You can now create a more detailed specific 8.5 x 11” Report Form for Evaluating Drill Cuttings or Cores. Many new columns specific to the DCR are available to the Vertical Log as well. 6. New Percent Lithology Column for the Mudlog. 7. Improved symbol painting features in the Horizontal Striplog. 8. Many new curve and column options are now available in both the Vertical and Horizontal Striplog.

New Feature in Version 2.32:

GRS Inc. is pleased to release Version 2.32 of GEOstrip SystemsTM with improved and new features. Now all formatting of the Geological Description Column contents is transferred over to the Sample Description segment of the Well Report with no editing necessary. A new Ignore Nulls option is available now on all curve tracks. A new Auto Depths feature is now available so you can preset you logs to display depths in the Geological Description Column in whatever increment you want. Many more feature to come.

New Feature in Version 2.30:

This update significantly improves printing and creating PDF documents. Several data links have been added to the Report Field selector and Headers blocks. Editing and moving text boxes are much easier now and a new Default Report is available. Many more features to come.

New Features in Version 2.22

  • GEOstrip SystemsTM now has a Report Builder Module that builds your Final Well Report as you enter data into your striplog. The Reports are completely customizable and reduce your editing time at the end of a well. There is a Default Report included with GEOstrip SystemsTM or if you wish to customize your Report you can easily do it with the Field Selector option list that sets up data links to your desired locations of your Report.
  • New Log File editing gives you one central data entry point or editing point for all data being entered in the striplog. From here all the data is available to the Headers and Reports.
  • All Curve Tracks labels and Curve Labels are now editable.
  • New upgrades to the Default Headers and new additional data links are now available on the Customizable headers.
  • Headers now can be selected from an Available Headers List and then organized in the order you prefer.
  • New view Headers option to view how the headers will look on the Log.
  • GEOstrip SystemsTM now has 48 Curve capabilities on 6 Curve Tracks. 8 Curves maximum per track.
  • New view Log Width option lets you expand the Log width from the standard 8.5”wide Log to whatever your width requirements.
  • You can now import Surveys into the GEOstrip VC StriplogTM the Vertical Striplog of GEOstrip SystemsTM.
  • New Paper Margin lines on either side of Log screen view indicate the printable area of your striplog. Many more features coming soon.
  • New Features in Version 2.15

  • GEOstrip SystemsTM is now capable of both Metric and Imperial units of measurements and Logs.
  • All Curve Track Headers are Editable.
  • All Curve Tracks can now indicate Linear or Logarithmic.
  • New Features in Version 2.14

    1. Add capability in horizontal log to change TVD range.
    2.  Add ability to Export Proposed and Actual Surveys.
    3. Add ability to draw a pointer line and Rectangle box in the Horizontal Log.
    4. Remember last text formatting/styles by column/row when importing text from word processor to Geological Description column or WBCS.
    5. Now opens up an existing log file at the depth it was when closed.
    6. Delete comment is now available in the description column in vertical log.
    7. Addition of routine in Import Curve Data to import LAS file with odd small depth increments.
    8. Wrapped curves in curve tracks now indicated with lines or solid colors within curve area.
    9. Scale change indication line with letters “SC” now appears on curve track at location of Scale Change.

    New Features in Version 2.11

    1. Text editor used in the curve tracks, description and Well Bore Columns remember its last text styles/formatting selection
    2. Now has Add/Edit/Delete Abbreviation capability to Abbreviation Library
    3. Log Headers with BiTMap spaces now have “No BiTMap” option.
    4. Each columns palette window now remembers its previous selection for quicker symbol entering.
    5. In the Note Header you now have Styles & Formatting capability.
    6. Depth Scales 1:100, 1:200, 1:500, added to Vertical & Horizontal Striplog.
    7. Depth Scales1:50 added to Core Log.
    8. Set Grain size and Porosity grade in Vertical and Horizontal now fit with all depth scales.
    9. Lithology Rock Type symbols size is now smaller to better indicates change in Rock Type and Formation Tops.
